The McLaren Ford M23 is the famous car that accompanied James Hunt in his triumphant and dramatic conquest of his only world drivers' title in the 1976 season. Equipped with the 3.0-liter Ford Cosworth DFV V8 engine, the single-seater produces 475 horsepower and stands out for its extraordinary agility on fast circuits. The 1976 championship is remembered for the close duel with Niki Lauda's Ferrari and for the sudden regulatory changes that forced the team's designers to remove the large high-chimney airbox above the rollbar mid-season, replacing it with low, split air intakes to comply with the height limits set by the federation.
